How do you sell your music online? Tunecore vs. ReverbNation
Well, I just posted this on another blog and then something struck me. Hey, I have a blog, duh! So, I am going to repost a quick comparison between the two distribution services I have used (or will use) to get my music sold in online stores like iTunes, eMusic, Amazon Mp3, Rhapsody, and more. Big-time labels are no longer a necessity to break into music sales. I suppose they haven't been for quite a while, but until recently, I had never ever dreamed it could be this easy to …
What is that ... some kind of science joke?
Good question. While some groups like to shroud the origins of their name in mystery (or are too embarrassed to tell the story), we at Electron believe in full disclosure. Either that, or it has been a slow day and I feel like typing. The name is connected to my first band, which formed in high-school. Aaron (that's me), and a fellow by the name of Mike were its charter (and only) members. We styled ourselves "Supercar", which just so happened to be the name of the …
Starting Over
Starting Over, our second single, has been released! AND, we just moved into our new website. What do you think?
Starting Over picks up where "In the End" leaves off ... get it? We're really starting to develop a different sound with this track, moving away from traditional ambient electronica. It's not intentional, but it's interesting. I'd say it's more "neo-classical electronica" than anything else, wouldn't you say? The song may be at 140BPM, but it definitely has a down-tempo, chill-out, sort of feel to it. It's hard for me not to go nuts on the piano. I had to reign it in to meet our goal of keeping our music "Simply Deep". I hope you'll agree we succeeded with this one. It's available in all the usual places. As always, please let us know what you think of it! ~A In the eeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnd
First single is up on iTunes! "In the End ambient remix", is our re-imagining of Linkin Park's influential masterpiece. As is our style, the remix is less heavy than other electronic versions out there. It is much more down-tempo, and features clean piano, acoustic guitar, and strings. It is available on iTunes, eMusic, SoundClick and more! Thanks for visiting, and we hope you enjoy the track as much as we enjoyed creating it. Please let us know what you think!
